5.0 out of 5 stars New Balance WT20 Shoes, September 10, 2011

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE SHOES!!!

Even though I'm no shoe or sneaker expert, I've purchased a fair share of them in my lifetime. I've never written a review for any shoes before now. I suppose it's because I've owned Converse, Puma, Nike and many other New Balance shoes before, but NONE even come close to the New Balance WT20 Trail Minimus shoes. Certainly these are the most comfortable sneakers I've ever worn, even though I've only owned them for exactly one week. I wish these shoes would've been available while I was in Army basic training.

Pros: Weight: very light shoe without compromising durability or support. Traction: Walking or running, traction is pretty nice. Fit: very comfortable, breathable material, cushions feet without crowding, also provides arch support. In my experience, low profile New Balance shoes can sometimes run a bit more narrow than usual so I purchased this shoe in WIDE. I'm very glad that I did. Sole: Cushions the impact while walking or... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Felt great right out of the box-even without socks, August 25, 2011
First pair of shoes (athletic or otherwise) I have purchased that I've had no blisters or rubbing the first time I've worn them. I'm new to minimalist running so I only ran a mile in them and walked a mile-however that was enough to sell me on them. I have heard there's a band that cases them to run narrow-I have narrow feet so I can see how that might bother someone. One of the shoelaces was frayed but a five minute call to New Balance and they had replacements in the mail-not a minus for the shoe but a big plus to New Balance customer service. The are a little more light dove gray than white-they seem a lot brighter in the picture. I like the actual color better.

Hopefully more experienced minimalist runners will also rate these, however for me they feel fantastic. I could have ran five miles in them, no problem!

4.0 out of 5 stars Light with a bite, November 10, 2011

You really need to take it slowly and use these shoes for off road. I felt fine after a couple of runs but then went for a longer run on some hard surfaces and got achilles tendonitis. I have gone back to old shoes for a while. I would suggest using them in conjunction with your regular shoes. Use for short periods at a time increasing the use very slowly and keeping to soft surfaces. Your muscles need plenty of time to adjust.
The shoes themselves seem great but being so light I wonder how durable they will be. They are comfortable and fit my narrow feet nice a snuggly:)
